March - April: Working to train field staff in proper collection protocol for a larger survey between April and June of 2011


October -March: Caring for orphaned baby chimpanzees destined for in-country sanctuaries while doing preliminary data collection for work examining impacts of artisanal diamond and gold mining on unhabituated chimpanzee communities. 

Pilot study included collection of faecal samples from chimpanzees and initial results were presented at the International Primatological Society Congress in Kyoto, Japan in September of 2010

Documented work of increased orphan trade south of the Uele River was published in African Primates in 2010
